Chrome extension
Collapse & Discard
Collapse a tab group, free its memory. Tabs you've put away stop using memory, which can help reduce lag when you have many tabs open.
What it does
- When you collapse a Chrome tab group, its tabs are unloaded from memory.
- Every tab stays exactly where it was, in the same group and order. Chrome reloads a tab when you click it.
- Mark a group Keep loaded to protect it. Protected groups show 🛡️ in their title.
- Never unloads the tab you're on or tabs playing audio.
- The toolbar badge shows how many tabs have been unloaded.
