Collapse & Discard Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Collapse & Discard Chrome extension ("the extension") handles your information. The extension is developed by ADDexia (Singapore) ("we", "us").

1. Summary

2. Information the extension reads

To decide whether a tab can be unloaded, the extension reads tab-group IDs, titles, colours and collapse state, and the state of tabs in those groups (for example, whether a tab is active, playing audio or already unloaded).

It does not read or store tab web addresses (URLs), webpage titles, page contents or browsing history.

3. Information stored on your device

The extension stores only two settings in Chrome's local extension storage: whether automatic unloading is turned on and whether the confirmation message is shown. Temporary per-group workflow state is kept in Chrome's session storage and is cleared when the browser session ends. None of this leaves your device.

When you mark a group Keep loaded, the extension adds 🛡️ to the start of that group's title. Chrome saves group titles as part of its normal session restore.

4. Permissions

5. What the extension does to your tabs

The extension asks Chrome to unload eligible tabs. It does not close, delete, move or navigate them. As with any unloaded tab, a page may lose unsaved form input.

6. Your choices

You can turn off automatic unloading in the extension's toolbar popup, or remove the extension at any time from chrome://extensions. Removing it deletes its stored settings.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
